An elementary teacher at Calvert Academy, Alicia Taylor has nearly a decade of teaching experience, including eight years in a 3rd grade classroom. Throughout her career, she has taught students in various skill levels, and she has co-taught in an English Language inclusion classroom and special education inclusion classroom. As a virtual teacher, Mrs. Taylor enjoys working one-on-one with her students.
“This allows me to build a relationship with them both academically by building their confidence using teaching strategies and personally by taking the time to hear about their day and have some fun together,” she said.
As a daughter in a military and state department family, Mrs. Taylor traveled all around the world growing up. She went to elementary school in Okinawa, Japan; Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania; and Madrid, Spain. She then completed middle school and high school in Shanghai, China, and Hong Kong. Today, she lives in Virginia with her husband, two sons, and two rowdy Labrador retrievers. She enjoys spending time together with her family at fire pits, family dinners, the pool, and sporting events.
