Skip counting, recognizing ordinal numbers, and understanding odd and even numbers are all discussed. Course units contain quizzes and tests to evaluate progress and student mastery.

As students work throughout the curriculum, they also gain practice in word structure, basic sentence structure, dictionary skills, and writing.

In 1st grade Bible, students learn about God’s grand design and biblical truths by studying both the Old and New Testaments. Utilizing the King James Version, this online academy Bible course covers a variety of biblical material to assist in the development of practical Christian living. Lessons include the creation story and develop skills like writing and tracing simple words, matching, and color recognition.

Topics in this online academy include God’s love for his children, praying to God and listening to God, Jesus is our Savior, God uses missionaries, and God’s promises. Students are also introduced to Old and New Testament Bible stories and characters like Jonah, David, Daniel, Esther, Moses, Zacchaeus, and Paul. Print-based lessons include bright, colorful graphics and fun activities to engage young learners.

Students learn about being feelings, family relationships, places people live, firemen and policemen, the pilgrims, patriotism, the globe, and different countries.

Ten colorful worktexts present lessons on the human body, the five senses, animals, plants, energy, health, machines, and more.

Throughout the year, basic grammar skills also take students from “learning to read” to “reading to learn.”
