With over 30 years of teaching experience, Claudia Harbour has a fascinating history in education prior to teaching science at Calvert Academy. Her career began as a middle school teacher in Germany for over a decade. From there, she taught at an international school in Turkey before moving to Egypt and be a teacher at a German School in Cairo and a scuba diving instructor in the Red Sea.
In the late 2000s, she moved to the United States to continue her teaching career. Today, she still loves to teach and hear from her online students.
“I enjoy reading and grading all the awesome projects and experiments my students do,” she said. “It always feels great when I get a private response from my students.”
She currently resides in northern California, where one daughter and granddaughter also live. She also has 3 daughters and two granddaughters in Germany. In her free time, she is an active snowboarder, skier, and competitive endurance horse rider.
